Six Impossible Things is an evening of poetry, music, dance, and art on Saturday, October 26th presented by the Getty Center in collaboration with the Write Now Poetry Society. Six luminaries of contemporary poetry and spoken word — Beau Sia, Sonya Renee, Jack Hirschman, Corinna Bain, Joshua Marie Wilkinson and Jennifer L. Knox — will showcase new work inspired by the photography exhibition Abelardo Morell: The Universe Next Door. These performances will be interwoven with lush live music and dance sequences by the incredible performance artist Narcissister to create a live, ecstatic exploration where the visual and literary arts collide. Curated and hosted by actress/author Amber Tamblyn and poet Mindy Nettifee, Six Impossible Things might be the most ambitious and delightful Write Now Poetry Society production yet.
The event will be held at the Getty Center in Los Angeles at the Harold M. Williams Auditorium. Dark Blushing is all ages and admission is free, but reservations must be made! Reservations open on Thursday, September 19th at 9am and may be made by calling 310-440-7300, or they can be made online at http://www.getty.edu/museum/programs/performances/saturday_nights.html.
