Dirty Looks is thrilled to launch year-two of Dirty Looks: On Location with an evening of videos and performance by artist Narcissister. Narcissisterʼs videos have been screened in festivals world-wide and she has amassed a diverse roster of performance venues (MoMA, The Kitchen, Americaʼs Got Talent), all this, after having only created the Narcissister character 6 years ago. This screening will be the first to survey the artistʼs video works and will be immediately followed by a performance. The Spectrum, a former residential dance studio-cum-queer community arts space, was the initial inspiration for the evening, which emerged from a late night dialogue between the artist and curator Bradford Nordeen, in that very locale.
Emerging from the hole whence we all come, visual and performance artists Narcissister + A.L. Steiner present "Winter/Spring Collection". This Los Angeles-centric video blurs and fuses imageries of anatomy, landscape, technology, pleasure and leisure. The artists unite their shared interest in the performative body via the tropes of burlesque, vernacular of feminism and figurations of sensuality. This video explores the interiorities and externalizations of the corporeal via juicy fruits, hard nuts + hardcore posers. C'mon feel the noize!
