“As an undergraduate, I studied with Faith Ringgold for a semester at UC San Diego. The intersection of craft and activism that’s so alive in her work has had a lasting impact on my own development as an artist. I did a performance alongside a retrospective of her quilts at Deitch Projects in Los Angeles where I lifted with my vagina a 30 ft long quilt that I stitched together from found quilts.”
